Since the 16th century, the Carillon family has made wine in Puligny-Montrachet, starting with Jehan Carillon, who was a vintner in Puligny. He was followed in the tradition by his son Jacques Carillon who studied oenology in Beaune in 1980. A specialist in winemaking and marketing, Jacques and his wife Sylvia founded Domaine Jacques Carillon in 2010 with a vine planting of approximately 5.25 hectares in the village of Puligny-Montrachet.
Burgundy's traditions are always respected on the estate, nearly following an organic method- the vast majority of work is done by hand, from plowing the ground to green harvesting. Together, they strive to craft wines that remain timeless while admirably reflecting the Chardonnay terroir.
Now let’s talk about the taste of these fine wines. As one of the greatest white wines of Burgundy, Domaine Jacques Carillon has an excellent reputation. Rich and fruity aromatics are present, with a little spice to give the blend a little zing. Critics praise its structure, texture, and longevity, and Domaine Jacques Carillon is undoubtedly on the list of prestigious restaurants around the world.
