The majority of us have tried Spanish wines at least once, but have you ever tried red wines made from Tempranillo grapes?
Very similar to Cabernet Sauvignon, Tempranillo wines have medium to full body and smell of delicious dark cherries, plum, dried figs and sometimes even the ripest tomatoes. Aged Tempranillo wines also have a distinctive vanilla and cloves scent, mixed in with smoky leather. Very sophisticated indeed.
Today we feature just one wine- Angelitos Negros 2013 from a boutique winery in Spain called Casa Maguila. Besides its artsy label, the wine itself is made from 100% Tempranillo grapes and is juicy and delicious with notes of cherries, black plums and violets. Featuring earthy notes with hints of mineral and leather, the finish is long and floral with a clear acidity.

TASTING NOTES |
Casa Maguila Angelitos Negros 2013
"The first in a line of three reds is the 2013 Angelitos Negros, pure Tinta de Toro. It's fruit-driven with aromas of cherries in liqueur, flowers, pollen and Mediterranean herbs; it is perfumed and showy while keeping the poise and restrain. It is also juicy and soft, with unnoticeable tannins and good volume. This wine is a very pleasant, approachable version of Toro." - The Wine Advocate
