Rainer Wess Estate Kremstal Grüner Veltliner 2020
"From the cool 2020 vintage, this is quite tight at first, but the white stone fruit and lemon citrus notes open with time in the glass. The palate is fresh and focused with an attractive flintiness. Not the most complex, but very well priced from a respected producer focused on sustainable farming and low-intervention winemaking. Drinking Window 2021 - 2023." - Decanter, 89 points.
It has always been Rainer Wess's dream to have his own name on his wine bottle. Despite not having a winery, cellar, or vineyard, he bought grapes anyway and began his own wine label differently from his competitors. In 2003, Rainer Wess started his own winery in the charming city of Krems, Austria, when his wines gained more popularity and needed a larger space.
Melon, candied pear, orange zest, balanced wine, tender seasoning, lively drinking flow, fine fruit melt in the finish
